CBD Isolate Oil
3 productsIsolate is a single cannabinoid separated from everything else in the hemp plant: no THC, no terpenes, no other cannabinoids. In a carrier oil that gives a near-neutral taste and a lab report with one line that matters. The tinctures here include a 300mg-per-milliliter CBD isolate, a CBG isolate and a chicken-flavored CBD oil for pets.
What is CBD isolate?
Hemp extract starts out as a mix of cannabinoids, terpenes and plant waxes. Isolate is what remains when that extract is refined until one cannabinoid is left, usually cannabidiol. The brand then dissolves it in a carrier oil, most often MCT from coconut, and sells it with a dropper. The ingredient list is short: the cannabinoid, the carrier and sometimes a flavoring.
Who is isolate oil for?
It suits people who want no THC in the bottle at all, not a trace. It also suits anyone who dislikes the grassy taste of full spectrum oil, because isolate in MCT is close to flavorless and mixes into a drink or food. And it is the usual choice for pets, since THC is the cannabinoid an animal should not be getting.
If you are drug tested, isolate is the strictest option, but read the Certificate of Analysis for your batch anyway. The report is what shows THC as not detected. No seller can guarantee the result of a test.
How is isolate different from broad spectrum?
Both are sold as THC-free. Broad spectrum oil removes the THC and leaves the minor cannabinoids and terpenes in. Isolate removes those too. Broad spectrum tastes of hemp and its lab report lists several cannabinoids. Isolate tastes of very little and its report lists one. The full set of THC-free products in every format is in THC-Free CBD.
What is in this collection?
The Lazarus Naturals CBD Isolate Tincture is the CBD isolate oil for people. It holds 300mg of CBD per milliliter, 9,000mg in a 30mL bottle, in organic coconut MCT oil, in Flavorless or Strawberry Hibiscus. That is six times the concentration of the Lazarus Classic tincture, so it suits people who already know they want a high amount. The dropper is marked every 0.25mL, which is 75mg.
The Lazarus Naturals High Potency CBG Tincture is an isolate oil, but it is not a CBD oil. It carries 300mg of CBG per milliliter, with no CBD, no THC, no terpenes and no flavoring. Lazarus suggests starting at 0.5mL, which is 150mg.
The Medterra Chicken Flavor Pet CBD Tincture is CBD isolate in organic MCT oil with natural chicken flavoring, made for dogs and cats. It comes as 300mg or 750mg in a 30mL bottle, which works out to 10mg or 25mg of CBD per milliliter. It is not a product for people.
If 300mg per milliliter is more than you need, CBD isolate also comes in lower, fixed amounts: the Medterra Daily Relief capsules, at 25mg or 50mg each.
Frequently asked questions
What is CBD isolate oil?
It is cannabidiol refined until nothing else from the hemp plant remains, then dissolved in a carrier oil such as MCT. There are no terpenes, no minor cannabinoids and no THC in it. The bottle comes with a dropper and is used like any other tincture.
Does CBD isolate oil contain THC?
Isolate is made without THC, and the Certificate of Analysis for each batch is where that is confirmed. Look for the Delta-9 THC line on the report: it should read ND or "not detected". The report for every product is linked on its page.
Will CBD isolate show up on a drug test?
No seller can promise a test result. Standard screens look for THC, and isolate does not carry THC according to its lab report. Thresholds and methods vary between laboratories, so read the Certificate of Analysis for your batch and keep a copy of it.
Does isolate oil taste like hemp?
Barely. The grassy taste of hemp oil comes from terpenes and plant compounds, and isolate has none of them. An unflavored isolate in MCT oil tastes mostly of the carrier, which makes it easy to add to coffee, a smoothie or a pet's food.
Can I give a CBD isolate tincture to my dog or cat?
Only one made for animals. The Medterra pet tincture here is dosed at 10mg or 25mg of CBD per milliliter, lower than the tinctures made for people, and the dropper lets you measure by body weight. Talk to your veterinarian first, especially if the animal takes medication.
