CBD for Stress & Calm
10 productsThese are the daytime formulas: CBD paired with the botanicals brands put in their calm blends, at amounts printed on the label. None of them contains melatonin. Most carry little or no THC, which is what separates them from an evening product.

What makes a formula a daytime one
Two things, and neither is the CBD.
- No melatonin. That is the ingredient that makes a product an evening one, and nothing in this collection contains it.
- The botanicals. L-theanine, ashwagandha, lemon balm and chamomile are what brands build a calm blend around. The CBD is the base; the botanical is the reason the product is positioned the way it is.
The amounts are the part worth comparing, because that is where these formulas actually differ from one another.
How to choose
- Compare the botanical amount per serving, not per bottle. Two hundred milligrams of L-theanine and 20mg of L-theanine are both "L-theanine" on a label.
- Check the serving size. Several of these are a two-gummy serving, so the per-piece amount is half of the figure on the nutrition panel.
- Decide whether you want a topical instead. A balm is applied rather than swallowed, and the ones here use lavender and chamomile rather than menthol.
- Check the spectrum if you are drug tested. Broad spectrum and isolate have no detectable THC.
What is in this collection
Lazarus Naturals Calm Gummies carry roughly 200mg of L-theanine and 125mg of ashwagandha in a two-gummy serving, which is the most botanical-heavy formula here. Charlotte's Web Calm Gummies use 75mg of lemon balm and 50mg of L-theanine alongside full spectrum hemp extract. Canna River Calm takes the opposite approach and uses cannabinoids rather than botanicals: 50mg of CBD with 25mg each of CBN and CBG, in a gummy and a softgel.
Format decides how you use them. A gummy or a capsule is a fixed amount you can take on a schedule. A balm goes on the skin instead, and the Lazarus Relax and Unwind stick uses lavender and chamomile with no cooling agents in it. Every product page links the Certificate of Analysis for the batch you receive.
Frequently asked questions
What is L-theanine?
An amino acid found in tea leaves. It is one of the most common botanical additions to a calm blend, and the amounts vary widely between products, which is why it is worth reading the figure per serving rather than the name on the front.
What is ashwagandha?
A root used in Ayurvedic tradition and sold widely as a supplement in its own right. Lazarus Naturals Calm Gummies carry about 125mg of it in a two-gummy serving.
Do these products contain melatonin?
No. Melatonin is what makes a formula an evening product, and nothing in this collection includes it. The nighttime formulas are in the sleep collection instead.
Do calm formulas contain THC?
Most carry little or none. Charlotte's Web uses full spectrum hemp extract, which keeps a trace. Canna River sells its Calm blend in a broad spectrum version with none detected and a full spectrum version with a declared amount. The spectrum is on every product page.
Can I take a calm formula during the day?
That is what they are built for, which is the reason melatonin is left out. If you are new to a formula, try it when you do not have to drive or work, the same as with anything else you have not taken before.
