CBD Full Spectrum Oil

16 products

Full spectrum means the extract keeps the whole range of compounds the hemp plant produces, including up to 0.3% Delta-9 THC. That trace of THC is the line between this category and the other two. If you are subject to workplace drug testing, this is not the one to pick.

What full spectrum means

The three spectrum categories differ by what has been taken out.

  • Full spectrum removes nothing. Cannabinoids, terpenes and the trace of THC that came with the plant all stay in.
  • Broad spectrum keeps the other compounds and removes the THC.
  • Isolate strips everything except cannabidiol.

Hemp is legally defined by that 0.3% Delta-9 limit by dry weight, so a full spectrum hemp product carries a small amount of THC by definition. What "small" works out to in milligrams depends on the concentration, and the good brands publish it. The Canna River Classic tincture declares 2mg of Delta-9 per 1mL serving in its full spectrum version. That is the figure to look for.

How to choose

  • Check the milligrams of THC per serving, not just the word "trace". A concentrated tincture can carry a meaningful amount in a full dropper.
  • If you are drug tested, choose broad spectrum or isolate instead. This is the category that will not work for you.
  • Compare the CBD per serving rather than the number on the bottle. A 6,000mg bottle and a 1,500mg bottle can give the same amount per milliliter in different sizes.
  • Read the Certificate of Analysis for your batch, linked on every product page. It shows what the laboratory measured, cannabinoid by cannabinoid.

What is in this collection

Canna River sells most of its tinctures in both Full and Broad Spectrum, chosen as an option on the product page rather than as separate listings. The Classic gives 100mg of CBD per 1mL serving and the Ultra Classic holds 20,000mg of cannabinoids in a 120mL bottle. The Pain tinctures add CBG at a two-to-one ratio and Ultra Sleep adds CBN.

Lazarus Naturals Classic is full spectrum only, with no broad spectrum version, so what you see is what ships. It is unflavored, carries 50mg of CBD per milliliter and comes in a 1,500mg or a 6,000mg bottle.

Frequently asked questions

What is full spectrum CBD oil?

An extract that keeps the full range of compounds from the hemp plant: CBD, the minor cannabinoids, the terpenes and up to 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. Nothing is removed after extraction.

How much THC is in full spectrum CBD oil?

Legally, no more than 0.3% Delta-9 by dry weight. In practice the brands here publish it per serving: the Canna River Classic tincture declares 2mg per 1mL in its full spectrum version, and the figure is on each product page.

What is the difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum?

The THC. Full spectrum keeps the trace that came with the plant. Broad spectrum keeps the other compounds and removes the THC, so laboratory reports come back with none detected.

Will full spectrum CBD oil show up on a drug test?

It can. Full spectrum products contain THC, which is what standard workplace screens look for. If a test matters to you, pick broad spectrum or isolate rather than this category.

Is full spectrum better than isolate?

Neither is better in the abstract. Full spectrum gives you the whole extract; isolate gives you cannabidiol and nothing else, with no THC to account for. The right one depends on whether the THC is a feature or a problem for you.
