Isolate or broad spectrum?

The two get grouped together because neither has detectable THC, but they are not the same thing.

  • Isolate is cannabidiol on its own. Everything else has been stripped out: no THC, no minor cannabinoids, no terpenes. There is nothing in the bottle to account for, which is why brands can label it THC-free rather than low-THC.
  • Broad spectrum keeps the other hemp compounds and removes the THC at the end. You get CBG, CBC and the terpenes that came with the extract, without the THC.

Isolate is the stricter choice. Broad spectrum is the fuller one. Which is better depends entirely on why you are avoiding THC.

How to choose

  • Check the label on the product page, not the collection. Every product here states whether it is isolate or broad spectrum.
  • Read the Certificate of Analysis for your batch. It is linked on each product page and it shows the numbers a laboratory actually measured, rather than what the packaging claims.
  • Compare the amount per serving, not the figure on the front of the bottle.
  • Pick the format for timing. A tincture held under the tongue is absorbed sooner than a gummy or a capsule, which pass through digestion first.

What is in this collection

Concentration varies by format and the numbers are printed on the label. The Lazarus Naturals High Potency Isolate Tincture holds 300mg of CBD in each milliliter. Medterra Daily Relief capsules come at 25mg or 50mg apiece, and both Medterra pet tinctures are isolate too. One note on what is not here. Part of the catalog does not publish a spectrum at all, because the brand never states one. Those products are excluded from this collection rather than assumed to be THC-free, which is the safe way round.

What is the difference between broad spectrum and isolate?

Does THC-free CBD really contain no THC?

Will THC-free CBD pass a drug test?

No seller can promise a test result. Screening thresholds vary between employers and laboratories, and other factors affect a sample. What you can do is pick isolate or broad spectrum, read the Certificate of Analysis for your batch, and know what you took.

Is broad spectrum CBD weaker than full spectrum?

It is not weaker in CBD. A broad spectrum product can carry exactly as many milligrams as a full spectrum one. What changes is what else is in the bottle, since the THC has been removed.
